North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has arrived in Russia by rail, where he is scheduled to meet with President Vladimir Putin.
In video footage broadcast by Russian state TV, Kim Jong Un, clad in a suit, wore a smile as he disembarked from his train onto a red carpet at a station in the Russian Far East. A welcoming delegation awaited him, and a military band positioned on the platform at the railway station struck up a tune shortly thereafter.
Kim alighted from his train to engage with Russian officials in Khasan, the primary rail entry point to Russia’s Far East, before continuing on.
